Biovino is a multidisciplinary network which brings together experts from universities, public research institutions, technological centres and the only association that promotes the Bioeconomy and Circular Economy in the Iberian Peninsula. Biovine partners have the experience and skills to develop R&D projects in the field of agricultural and forest biomass valorisation.

Instituto Tecnológico Agrario de Castilla y León
Consortium leader
Public institution which is dependent of the “Consejería de Agricultura, Ganadería y Dearrollo Rural” from the government of Castilla y León. ITACYL promotes the activity of the agrarian sector and its related processing industries in Castilla y León by the development of new technologies, the investigation and the transfer of scientific knowledge. In the BIOVINO project, ITACyL participates through its “Centro de I+D de Biocombustibles y Bioporductos”.
ULE
Universidad de León
Public higher education institution founded in 1979 and located in the province of León (Castilla y León). It currently has two campuses (Vegazana and Ponferrada), which involves nine faculties and five schools with nearly 13,000 students in its undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees. In the BIOVINO project, ULe participates through its “Instituto de Medio Ambiente, Recursos Naturales y Biodiversidad”.
CETIM
Centro Tecnológico de Investigación Multisectorial
CETIM is a technological institution located near A Coruña (Galicia) dedicated to the development of technological projects and services that create increased economic and social value. CETIM develops its activity through a multidisciplinary team divided under three areas of expertise: Natural environment, advanced materials and industrial development. In the BIOVINO project, CETIM participates through its Research Area of Environment, Natural Resources and Biodiversity.
BLC3
Campus de Tecnologia e Inovaçao
BLC3 is a non-profit association that promotes the creation of a new research model as well as a technological development of excellence, the incubation of enterprises and business projects to support the economic fabric of the rural zones of Portugal. This is the first and only Portuguese entity dedicated to the development of biorefineries and the Bioeconomy by focusing in the Circular Economy concept. In the BIOVINO project, BLC3 participates through its RD&I centre.
UA
Universidade de Aveiro
UA is a public foundation governed by private law with the mission of enhancing the education, the capacitation, the research and the cooperation with civil society. This University was funded in 1973 and it is located on the Portuguese region of Aveiro. There are nearly 13,000 students involved in 168 undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees. In the BIOVINO project, UA participates through the “Centro de Investigação em Materiais Cerâmicos e Compósitos (CICECO)” from the Aveiro Institute of Materials.
Universidade do Minho
It is a public foundation governed by private law, under the legal regime of higher education institutes. Its mission is to create, spread and put knowledge into application, with free thinking and pluralism as its core values. It was founded in 1973 and it has three campuses (Gualtar, Azurém and Couros) located in the Portuguese regions of Braga and Guimaraes. In this University study nearly 19,000 students involved in more than 220 undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate degrees. In the BIOVINO project, Universidade do Minho participates through the “Centro de Engenharia Biológica (CEB)”.
