Technical Workshop “Innovative biorefinery strategies for the sustainable use of winery by-products”, 7 July 2022, Rueda (Spain).
The partners of Project Biovino organised on the 7th July 2022 a technical workshop entitled “Innovative biorefinery strategies for the sustainable use of winery by-products”. This event was hold at the Oenological Station of ITACyL, located in the town of Rueda (Valladolid, Spain).
The objective of this workshop was the presentation of the multiple valorisation possibilities offered by the wastes from winery industries. The event involved speakers from Spain and Portugal, and different matters were considered, including the valorisation of vineyard by-products; the production of biopolymers and other interesting biocompounds from winery by-products; the progresses on effluent treatment for agri-food industries; or the assessment of the environmental sustainability of certain biorefinery processes based on winery by-products from a life-cycle-analysis perspective.
